Walterboro community remembers tragic drive-by shooting that left 3 dead

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Exactly one year ago Tuesday, a drive-by shooting shook the city of Walterboro.

Three people were killed during the Nov. 9, 2009 shooting, including a 20-month-old girl.

The victims were 45-year-old Charles Kittrell, 21-year-old Christopher Powel and  20-month-old Shaniya Burden.

Investigators say about 25 people were at a family gathering when several people drove by and started shooting. Six other people were shot, but they suffered non-life threatening injuries

Danziel Chapman, 19, was charged with murder in that shooting.
