New Jersey man sentenced in Charleston on heroin charges

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A new Jersey man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday after being found guilty of drug charges.

Howard Scott, 46, of Jersey City, NJ, was sentenced to 188 months for possession with intent to distribute heroin, officials from the US Attorney's office said.

Evidence presented at the change of plea hearing showed that Scott came to South Carolina to sell heroin. During the execution of a search warrant, he was found to be in possession of 676 bags of heroin.
