Boil water advisory lifted for St. George

ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) – The Town of St. George has lifted the boil water advisory for residents living on South Metts Street from Railroad Avenue to the edge of town.

Deon Straud with the Town of St. George said the water was tested negative for bacteria when a water main was broken Thursday afternoon and is now safe to use again.

A boil water advisory is issued when water may be contaminated. Breaks in a water main or loss of pressure in the water system are the main causes of such contamination.
