MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - The North and the South battle again as re-enactors recreate the Battle of Secessionville on the South Carolina coast.
The events begin Friday with a school trip field day. Saturday has a battle reenactment at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant.
On Sunday the battle is staged a second time and there is a Veterans Day Service on the battleground.
The event recreates Battle of Secessionville southwest of Charleston - an unsuccessful attempt by Union troops in 1863 to breach the city's defenses.
