SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - She grew up under the regime and in the same house of Fidel Castro and Sunday, Alina Fernandez spoke about her experiences growing up in Cuba as Castro's daughter.
A toddler when he took power of the island country, Alina grew up in Cuba and then fled to the United States in 1993.
She shared stories about Cuban politics, society and her father.
"I think it's important to share information. Its such a different reality then the one I think you can imagine," said Fernandez.
Alina Fernandez's speech was just one of the many events taking place at Armstrong Atlantic State University's 2010 International Week.
