Rockefeller Center Christmas tree selected

MAHOPAC, NY (CNN) - It's going to feel a lot like Christmas in New York this weekend.

Crews cut down the 74-foot, 12-ton Norway Spruce in Mahopac, NY Thursday morning.

The Acton family donated the tree after a groundskeeper for Rockefeller Center spotted it on their property during a scouting trip in September.

It will be delivered to Rockefeller Center and put up Friday.

The lighting is scheduled for Nov. 30.
