No students injured in Timberland High bus accident, officials say

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A school bus for Timberland High School was struck from behind by another driver on Highway 52 near the school, district officials reported Friday afternoon.

According to Kathie Sizemore, the school district's public information officer, 13 students were on the bus when it was hit, but there were no serious injuries reported.

Six of the students were released to their parents at the scene of the accident while the other students were transferred to another bus and then taken to school, she said.

"The incident was unfortunate, but we are thankful that there were no serious injuries," she said.

According to a report by the Post and Courier, the driver of the vehicle that struck the bus was transported away from the scene with injuries.
