Walterboro tobacco shop robbed at gun point for third time

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - A Walterboro tobacco shop was robbed at gun point for the third time since September.

The Tobacco Shop on Hampton Street was robbed at gun point by two males last Friday. The shop was also robbed Sept. 18 and Oct. 27.

Missy Wade, a clerk at the store, says she believes that at least two of the three armed robberies are related. She said she has been present at two of the holdups.

"I'm scared, I'm scared they're not just gonna come in and get the money. They're just gonna kill us before it's over with," said Wade.

The Colleton Country Sheriff's Office is investigating the robberies.

Wade said the store has plans for more security measures at the store.

Investigators are looking for a black male who is approximately 25 years old in connection with the Sept. 18 robbery.
