Pizza restaurant robbed by gun-wielding men

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Two men armed with handguns robbed a West Ashley pizza restaurant Monday night, a police report stated.

Police responded to a robbery of the Pizza Hut at 2571 Ashley River Rd. shortly after 9 p.m.

According to the report, two men dressed in all black entered the restaurant carrying guns and demanded that employees empty the cash register and the safe below the counter.

The two men then fled on foot. The robbery took less than a minute, the victim told police.

K-9 units were used to track the scent of the two suspects, but were unsuccessful, the report stated.

    Two Charleston men have pleaded guilty to separate charges of distributing heroin and distributing fentanyl. Samuel Bobby Wright, 67, sold heroin from a residence just north of Septima Clark Parkway on dates in June and July 2017, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jamie Schoen.
