Suspect denied bond in deadly stabbing

McCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) – A man charged in connection with a deadly stabbing last weekend at a McClellanville night club was denied bond in court Friday.

Tyrone Winslow Jr. was arrested by US Marshals at his home Thursday morning, deputies said. Winslow appeared before a bond court judge at 2 p.m. Friday. Because he faces murder charges, bond was denied.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the Club 17 stabbing incident at approximately 2:30 a.m. after some witnesses say they heard gunshots in the area.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office identified 27-year-old Matthew Jerome Williams of McClellanville as the stabbing victim.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw Williams get jumped and knocked down by a couple of guys outside the club. Another witness stated that they did not realize the victim had been stabbed until he did not get up off the ground.

Some residents in the area say the incident could be gang related.
