Miss South Carolina Pageant in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC)- The North Charleston Performing Arts Center is hosting the Miss South Carolina USA pageant.

The final round will be held tonight at 7:30pm. Rachel Law, Miss South Carolina USA 2010, of Greenville will crown the new title holder.

 Megan Pinckney, Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2010, of North Charleston will crown the new teen title holder.

The winners of tonight will receive numerous scholarship opportunities, cash, an exclusive 14k gold crown ring, a new wardrobe for national competition and the opportunity to interview with top commercial talent agencies.

The winners will go on to compete in the national competition in the spring of 2011.

    The Isle of Palms Public Safety Committee will be discussing the possibility of a shuttle that would run between the island and Mount Pleasant on Wednesday night. It’s not the first time they’ve discussed this. In the past, the city has found that people didn’t want to use it, because of all the beach items, like chairs and umbrellas, people would be bringing back and forth.     Nine days after the state Department of Health and Environmental Control ordered a part of Savannah Highway to be closed because of petroleum on the roadway, the lane has re-opened.
