Man killed after Berkeley County wreck

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 35-year-old man was killed Sunday night after his car was struck by another vehicle on Highway 17-A in Berkeley County.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office, 35-year-old Michael Honeycutt, of Bonneau Beach, was trying to turn around in his Toyota sedan when he was struck in the driver's side door by a Nissan Altima heading north.

Honeycutt was killed as a result of the crash. The accident occurred several miles south of Jamestown around 7:15 p.m.  Honeycutt was pronounced dead on the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury. His death will be ruled accidental with head and body trauma listed as the cause of death. He was not wearing a seatbelt. 

The accident is being investigated be the Berkeley County Coroner Office and the S C Highway Patrol.
