St. George police arrest suspect in convenience store robbery

ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) – St. George police arrested a suspect and charged him in connection with a convenience store robbery early Sunday morning.

According to police, the EZ Shop located at 5963 W. Jim Bilton Blvd. was robbed around 3 a.m. Sunday.

The store clerk told police that while she was cleaning the floor near the coffee machine, a black male wearing a dark blue hoodie and black jeans entered the store and grabbed the cash register and then exited the store.

The clerk said that the subject then got into a dark colored older model four-door car and left heading towards the interstate.

After watching surveillance video from the robbery, police named 45-year-old Michael Addison, of Saint Mark Bowman Road, as a suspect in the robbery.

Addison was later arrested and charged with common law robbery and safe cracking. He was transported to the county detention center and is awaiting bond hearing.
