CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect wanted for assaulting and kidnapping his ex-wife Tuesday afternoon at her North Charleston residence.
According to sheriff's deputies, 39-year-old Michael Anthony Glover broke into his ex-wife's home Tuesday and assaulted her multiple times before fleeing the home. The victim was able to run to a neighbor's house and call 911. When deputies met the victim, she was bleeding heavily from the face.
Glover was arrested around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
According to an affidavit, Glover confined the victim to her residence against her will and would not allow her to leave. Sheriff's deputies say Glover is also involved in a prior case of stalking and harassing the same victim.
The victim told deputies that she was walking out of her bedroom when the suspect punched her in the face. She said he continued to punch her in the face while calling her names. He then threw her into the wall and continued punching her in the face and stomach, the victim said. She told deputies that when she fell, he continued to kick her.
She told deputies that he then dragged her into the bedroom and tied her right wrist to the bed with a belt. He demanded she tell him who was in the house earlier that day. When she told him, she said he became even more enraged and punched her three more times.
The victim said that the suspect told her if she went to the police he wouldn't be "talking" to her anymore. The victim told deputies she took this as a threat to her life. The suspect then asked the victim if she had set the alarm to the house. When she told him she had not, he appeared to get nervous and fled the residence.
Glover is wanted on charged of kidnapping, first degree burglary and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature
