NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A North Charleston teen was arrested and charged with the Nov. 26 armed robbery of a taxicab driver.

Raheem King, 19, turned himself in to police Dec. 4. He was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The cab driver was shot during the robbery, police reported.

King went before a bond judge Sunday.

The incident occurred about 4:20 a.m. Nov. 26 on Carlton Street.  When the Yellow Cab driver pulled up to the address, the suspect got in the back seat of the cab, pulled a handgun on the driver, and demanded money.

The cab driver was subsequently shot, got out of the cab, and ran to safety.  The cab then rolled into a fence pole and the suspect got out of the cab and fled the scene on foot.
