Summerville pizza shop robbed

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - An armed gunman robbed a popular chain pizza restaurant Monday night, officials said.

According to the incident report filed by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, no one was injured in the robbery that happened shortly before 10 p.m.

The reports states the store's employee stepped outside to smoke a cigarette where he was met by a black male suspect brandishing a handgun. The employee was ordered back inside the store  and ordered to hand over the store's cash.

With the registers emptied, the suspect demanded more. The victim told the man the rest of the money was in a safe, but it was on a 15-minute timer.

"Forget it, where else is the money," the suspect said, according to the report.

The suspect was then shown a register in the office. He ordered the victim to the wall and threatened to kill him if he moved, the report stated. The suspect fled out the back door.
