NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County's Board of Elections and Voter Registration members have called a special meeting on Friday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m. to make a final decision for the vacant position of executive director. The meeting will be held at the Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building (4045 Bridge View Drive; North Charleston) on the second floor in room B225. The meeting is open to the public.
The announcement for the vacant position of executive director prompted 44 applications to the Charleston County Human Resources Department. Human Resources personnel assisted the Board of Elections and Voter Registration with the selection process. Interviews took place on Monday, November 22 at the Public Services Building.
The three final candidates are:
- Joseph Debney, Executive Director of Dorchester County Board of Elections and Voter Registration
- Ruth Jordan, former Chairman of the Charleston County School Board
- Pamela McArthur, Precinct Coordinator with Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration
