CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A 19-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges after officials with the Horry County Police Department say he shot at a residence, injuring a dog and causing damage to the home Nov. 23, but this is not the first time he has been jailed on similar charges.

Jaqwon Danik Gagum of Conway was arrested Monday for attempted murder and taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where he is being held. Bond has not yet been set.

According to a police report, officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home along April Road in Conway on Nov. 23. The victim, a 21-year-old man, said a person came to his front door and knocked. When the victim looked out of the window, the person then kicked the front door.

The victim told police three people then ran to the back of the home. At that time, several shots were fired at the home.

A dog, which had been in a dog crate in the master bathroom, was struck on the right cheek, and the officer discovered several bullet holes in the bath tub and in the sheet rock.

The victim said he knew one of the suspects as "Ty", who drove a four door silver or gray Honda Acura. The victim also told police the suspects lived off Hallie Martin Road and were hanging out in the neighborhood.

When officers attempted to locate the suspects, they found a witness who told police they saw the suspects enter a home belonging to someone with the last name "Gagum."

According to the witness, Jaqwon Gagum was just released from jail.

On May 21, Gagum was arrested and charged with murder and arson in connection to the murder of Eric Salters, 21, of Myrtle Beach, whose body was found along Ridgefield Circle in Conway May 19.
