Charleston police investigate shooting of 26-year-old man

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are investigating a Thursday night shooting after they say one man was grazed by a bullet.

According to Charleston police, a 26-year-old man suffered a grazed wound on his right arm when he was shot around 9:20 p.m. Thursday near 1877 Hazelwood Dr.

The victim told police he was standing outside drinking a beer with two friends when they heard shots. Then, he felt a pain in his arm and noticed the gunshot wounds, the report stated.

During a discussion with one of the witnesses, officers noted that he was not cooperating with police and would not answer their questions.

Police canvassed the area Thursday night, talking to people in the area to try and determine the identity of the suspect or suspects and to find a motive for the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
