Fugitive surrenders to Colleton deputies

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A man wanted by Colleton County deputies for sexual assault and burglary surrendered Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Clyde Lewis Williams just turned himself in to the Colleton County Sheriff's Office on the charges of criminal sexual conduct and 1st degree burglary.

Williams is accused of forcing himself into the residence of a 17-year-old woman and forcibly sexually assaulting her.  The victim and the accused knew each other prior to the Nov. 19 incident, but the defendant is accused of using force to enter the residence and to accomplish the sexual assault.
