MT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Patriots Point hosted six survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor as a remembrance of the events of December 7, 1941.
Members of the South Carolina Pearl Harbor Survivors Association met in Hangar Bay 3 of the USS Yorktown to talk about their experiences and catch up with fellow vets. The event was meant to keep memories of the attack alive for future generations, as well as to honor those who died.
The survivors who attended include Donald Ralph, Thomas Ryan, Russell Meyne, Robert Mills, Ed Crews, and John W. Lawhon.
The vets say it is more important than ever to share their stories, as the number of living survivors is in sharp decline.
