Red Cross steps in to help after North Charleston fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Red Cross volunteers assisted three families affected by fire in a North Charleston Apartment Complex.

Depending on individual family need, the Red Cross, provided temporary shelter at a nearby hotel, comfort kits filled with personal emergency supplies, and referrals to partner agencies. The Red Cross will follow up to assure that the long-term needs of the three families have been met.

The Red Cross has assisted 1,092 individuals needing aid due to home fires in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties this year.
