CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A gas leak in front of the Veteran's Administration Hospital in downtown Charleston has forced several streets in the area to close.
A two-inch gas line ruptured around 2 p.m. Thursday. SCE&G arrived on scene to make repairs.
As a precaution, the South Carolina Federal Credit Union on Bee Street has been evacuated. Portions of Bee Street, Courtenay Drive and Cherry Street have been closed for safety reasons.
There is no word as to what caused the leak or when repairs will be finished and streets re-opened.
