Early morning shooting lands one in hospital

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Police in North Charleston are investigating an early-morning shooting.

According to police, the shooting happened around 3 a.m. at the Reserve at Wescott Plantation. The apartments are just off Dorchester Road in Summerville. Upon arrival, police officers located one spent round.

Further investigation revealed that one of the apartments was struck twice by stray rounds, but no one inside the apartment was injured.

Dispatch received a call from Summerville Medical that a black male arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. The injury is not life threatening.

According to the victim, he was at the apartments to see a girl when the suspect told him to "Give me all you got."

The suspect then fired several times striking the victim in the left shoulder. The victim stated that he ran away from the scene and flagged down a vehicle which transported him to the emergency room. No vehicle or person was located.

The victim describes the suspect as a white male, approximately 6'2" with black hair and tattoo under his left eye statedIncident.

The incident remains under investigation.
