Avett Brothers to headline 2011 Azalea Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The organizers of the 2011 Azalea Festival have announced the Avett Brothers will be one of the main acts to play at this year's party.

The group out of Charlotte has opened for the Dave Matthews Band and earlier this year filled a 7,000 seat venue in Cary on its own.  The group's latest release is "I and Love and You," which is described as a mix of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop.

The concert will take place Friday, April 8 at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $47.50 and will go on sale Saturday, December 11 at 10 a.m.  You can order online at www.ncazaleafestival.org and also at the Azalea Festival office beginning Monday, December 13 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m..  The office is located at:

Azalea organizers plan to announce more acts as they are signed for next year's festival, which will take place April 6-10 next year.
