SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Two people were shot Tuesday afternoon at a Summerville apartment complex and police are chasing down the shooters.

According to officials, the shooting happened at the Planters Retreat Apartments at 4400 Ladson Rd. One of the victims ran from the scene to the Old Fort Fire Department and was then taken to Medical University Hospital.

The other victim showed up at the Summerville Medical Center. Police say there are four male suspects in a gold SUV.

A police report shows that one of the victims was 16 years old.

"There were a lot of people being talked to there were a lot of people out and about if anybody has info we would love to talk to them,"said Capt. Jon Rogers with the Summerville Police Department.

Tabitha Freeman says she knows the victims and was shocked to hear about the shooting.

"Its pretty upsetting but I know the strong people that they are but its upsetting and heartbreaking,"Freeman said.

Freeman says the shooting is unusual for the complex.

"This is usually a pretty cool and calm place and we have a lot of friends around here its really not like this,"Freeman said.
