BLUFFTON, SC - A search warranted executed Monday at a Bluffton apartment complex resulted in the arrest of four individuals, and the seizure of numerous items of evidence used in the manufacturing of fraudulent identification documents.
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office ICE agents initiated an investigation after receiving information that various forms of identification were being illegally produced and sold at a unit in Bluffton House Apartments. During the course of the investigation, agents were able to obtain both a social security card and a permanent resident card that had been purchased from subjects at the apartment.
Upon execution of the warrant, agents made contact with and subsequently arrested the following four subjects: Melindza Cruz, 32, Santos Matia Suazo, 34, Oscar Funez-Ramirez, 27, and Luis Velasquez-Villatorro, 42.
Cruz and Suazo were charged with criminal conspiracy. Funez-Ramirez and Velasquez-Villatorro were charged with identity theft.
