Law enforcement cracks down on DUI's

CHARLESTON,SC- The "Sober or Slammer Campaign" holiday kick-off begins on Saturday, Dec. 18.  It will be started by the debut of a commercial that shows the consequences of driving drunk.

State Highway Patrol has been affected by state budget cuts recently, forcing them to keep fewer troopers on the roads.

"Statewide our numbers are dwindling, but that doesn't change the mission of the highway patrol. were trying to do best we can with what we have," says Captain Chris Williamson with Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol and local law enforcement have teamed up for the campaign and are relying heavily on each other to cut down on DUI deaths.
