CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Chilly temperatures greeted Lowcountry residents Monday morning as a cold start to the work week begins Christmas week.
A high pressure continues to build into the area and clear skies are expected Monday, despite temperatures starting off in the 20's. Monday will bring plenty of sunshine, but it will be a brisk day with highs only in the low 50's.
The weather looks fairly quiet for Tuesday and Wednesday with afternoon highs slightly milder in the upper 50's to low 60's with overnight lows in the upper 30's.
Another cold front will move through late Wednesday dropping temperatures back into the 50's for Thursday.
Looking ahead, a few showers could be in store for Christmas Day, then colder weather will follow for the holiday weekend.
