COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson has been named to chair a subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee.
Wilson will be in charge of the military personnel subcommittee. He says the assignment gives him a role in enhancing the quality of life for military personnel.
The South Carolina Republican's district includes Fort Jackson and three other military installations.
Wilson says he'll work to make sure military members, their families and veterans have affordable health care access.
