COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is keeping quiet on how much money her staff will make when she takes office, but she is talking about what they're being paid during her transition period.
Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey said Thursday that salaries haven't been finalized.
Haley lawyer Swati Patel has released broad salary ranges for her and other transition staff members in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from The Associated Press. They showed up to $70,000 being paid for 10 weeks for the seven staffers hired by Dec. 8.
Bill Rogers is executive director of the South Carolina Press Association and says Haley should be expected to provide more details.
