East Cooper Community Outreach receives donations from East Cooper Medical Center

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - East Cooper Community Outreach received a $2,249 check from East Cooper Medical Center for funds raised in a running/walking marathon held earlier this month.

The money was raised by East Cooper Medical Center employees during the 14-hour Ravenel Bridge running/walking marathon held on Friday, Dec. 10. In addition, ECMC employees also donated $1,500 worth of toys to ECCO and additional funds of $477 raised by the sale of poinsettias.

Approximately $4,226 was donated to ECCO this holiday season by the employees of ECMC.

    South Carolina Highway Patrol troops are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left one person dead in Dorchester County Sunday morning. Lance Corporal Matt Southern said the accident happened at 2:07 a.m. on Wire Road near Zion Road. The driver of the 2005 Honda Odyssey was driving two passengers when he ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned, Southern said.
