CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Milder weather is on the way as the Lowcountry thaws out.
Sunshine continues across the area Tuesday after the day started below freezing again. Highs will head into the upper 40's to low 50's by the afternoon. Winds will turn more out of the southwest by late day and that will cut off the cold air flowing in from the northwest.
Tuesday night will be another cold one with many areas back in the mid to upper 20's inland and low 30's right along the coast.
More sun and milder weather is ahead for Wednesday as highs head up into the mid 50's. By the end of the week, and the end of the year, temperatures will be near 70 with mild weather on the way.
