Beaufort County deputies investigate armed robbery

BURTON, SC (WCSC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at a gas station on Parris Island Gateway.

Sheriff's deputies responded to an armed robbery report shortly before 8 p.m. at the Valero gas station located at 430 Parris Island Gateway. Upon arrival, deputies met with the store clerk who said that two unknown black male subjects that were armed with a handgun had robbed him.

The clerk said he was standing behind the counter when the two masked suspects ran into the store. He said the men held him at gunpoint and ordered him to the floor. The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk's wallet and the store's cash register. The suspects also took an undetermined quantity of cigarettes.

Following the robbery, both suspects fled the store on foot towards the Palomino Drive area. The clerk was left unharmed during the incident.

The suspects are described as black males, both approximately 5'8" and 175 pounds. One suspect was wearing a blue jean jacket and black pants. The other suspect was wearing a blue coat with white sleeves.
