Suspect sought in Christmas Eve armed robbery of Ravenel gas station

RAVENEL, SC (WCSC) – The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man wanted in connection with a Christmas Eve armed robbery at a Sunoco gas station in Ravanel.

According to deputies, the robbery occurred just before 8 a.m. Friday at the Sunoco gas station on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.

Deputies are looking for 19-year-old Marvin Bowens Green of Jacksonboro. He is described as 5'6" weighing 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The victim told deputies that a suspect walked into the store and approached him with a dark handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded money.

The victim told deputies that he handed over the money from the register, but the suspect demanded more. When the victim told the suspect that he had just opened for business and did not have any more money, the suspect demanded the victim's wallet.

The suspect found no money in the victim's wallet and then demanded a pack of Newport cigarettes. The suspect left the store with approximately $60 and a $5 pack of cigarettes.

The victim told deputies that the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, khaki cargo pants, dark sunglasses and a red-billed baseball cap.

Upon reviewing surveillance video, the victim recognized the suspect and told deputies that he had robbed the store before.
