CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Temperatures will flirt with 70 degrees this weekend as many around the Lowcountry ring in the new year.
Expect partly cloudy skies overnight Friday with some fog developing towards Saturday morning. Temperatures around midnight will be in the low to mid 50's then will fall to around 50 degrees by morning.
New Year's Day will start out with mostly sunny skies, but clouds will increase by afternoon. It will, however, stay dry as high temperatures get into the low 70's. Overnight temperatures should be around 55 degrees.
A cold front will arrive on Sunday and a few showers are possible as the holiday weekend wraps up. The high for Sunday is 70 degrees. Cooler weather will follow for next week with highs in the upper 50's to near 60.
