Charleston lawmakers to give out aid to homeless

CHARLESTON, SC (AP) - Several South Carolina lawmakers plan to team up with Lowcountry churches give out food and clothing to the homeless.

State Sen. Robert Ford of Charleston and Reps. Wendell Gillard, Chip Limehouse and David Mack will be in downtown Charleston on Saturday to collect coats, sweaters that will be given out to the homeless.

Donations will be taken at the corner of Meeting and Harris streets across from the Crisis Ministries, which provides food and shelter to the homeless.
