COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Mark Sanford plans to spend most of his final full week in office crisscrossing South Carolina to thank his supporters.
Sanford will start his farewell tour Tuesday with breakfast in Rock Hill. He will also release one final budget proposal to legislators at a stop in Spartanburg later in the day.
Sanford will travel from Anderson to Hilton Head Island, and from Murrells Inlet along the Grand Strand to the state's smallest county with a stop in McCormick along the Georgia state line.
Sanford has 10 events in all planned over the next seven days.
Sanford's eight years as governor end Jan. 12 when fellow Republican Gov.-elect Nikki Haley is sworn in.
