COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Two days after closing out 2010 with a defeat in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, the USC football team suffers another loss. Wide receiver Tori Gurley is leaving school early to enter the NFL draft.
Gurley is a red shirt sophomore and has two years of eligibility remaining.
In a statement issued by Gurley, he said, "Yes, it's official that I am turning pro! Thank you Gamecock Nation and Coach Spurrier & Spurrier Jr. for giving me this opportunity."
Gurley also posted the statement on his Facebook page.
The Gamecocks are losing their second leading receiver. Gurley caught 42 passes and scored four touchdowns this season. He had a breakout game against Vanderbilt when he tied the school's single game reception record with 14 catches against the Commodores.
