SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Dorchester County Council is set to meet Tuesday, January 4 at 7 p.m. in Summerville. The council will take up a county-wide smoking ban similar to the one the Town of Summerville passed in late 2010. The proposed ordinance would deal with second hand smoke in county businesses.
County Council is also expected to vote in a new Chairman and hear a second reading of a proposal dealing with a $5 million bond issue for open space preservation at the meeting. Council Chambers are located at 500 North Main Street in Summerville. The meeting is open to the public.
