Stratford High student charged after school bus assault

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) – A Stratford High School student was arrested Monday after police say he assaulted another student on the school bus.

The victim, a 17-year-old student, told Goose Creek police that the suspect struck him in the face three times with an open-handed slap from the seat behind him on the school bus.

According to police, the situation caused such a disturbance that the bus driver made an abrupt stop and walked to the back of the bus where she restrained the suspect, who is also her son.

Wilson then drove the bus to Stratford High School and attempted to settle the dispute without any administrative help, but the victim demanded to speak to an administrator, a report stated. The victim told Goose Creek police that he wished to seek criminal prosecution in the case.

The suspect was charged with assault and battery in the third degree and interfering with the operation of a school bus.
