COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Colleton County couple was found shot to death in their home Tuesday after an apparent murder-suicide.
Colleton County sheriff's received a 911 call in reference to a shooting at 1328 Stokes Road near Walterboro at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday. After arriving on scene, deputies found two victims fatally shot inside the residence.
Colleton County Sheriff George A. Malone said the two victims were identified as man and wife and the incident is currently being investigated as a murder-suicide. The victims were identified as Randall "Randy" Gregg Hughes, 44, and Christina "Tina" Maria Hughes, 37.
Malone said the man and wife lived at the incident location with their children and were reportedly in the process of a marital separation.
According to Malone, investigators believe Randall Hughes shot his wife, Christina Hughes, and then turned the gun on himself and inflicted a fatal gunshot wound.
The incident is still under investigation by the Colleton County Sheriff's Office and the Colleton County Coroner's Office and an autopsy will be performed as part of the investigation.
The couple had six children together.
