Police search for suspect in James Island robbery, vandalism

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are searching for a man they believe vandalized and robbed a James Island gas station Sunday.

The owner of the Exxon at 971 Harborview Road flagged down police after discovering vandalism to the property. When he later reviewed his security footage, he noticed a man breaking out the window of a service bay.

The victim also saw the man enter the store at the address and take cigarettes, candy and other items valued around $100. An employee at the store recognized the suspect as a regular at the store, but did not know his name.

The man police are looking for is white and was last seen wearing gray pants and a camouflage jacket.
