Beaufort robbery foiled when victim shoots first

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - A holdup was foiled in Beaufort when two armed men rushed into a home and a man inside shot at them with a pistol.

The Beaufort Gazette reports a wounded man was arrested after he showed up at a hospital seeking treatment while a dog-tracking team apprehended the second suspect.

Authorities say the men knocked on the door of a Beaufort home Tuesday night where a group was playing video games.

When the door was opened, the armed men rushed inside. But 1 of the men inside grabbed a pistol and shot at the intruders.

Police Chief Matt Clancy says two St. Helena Island men, 25-year-old Darryl James Pryor and 24-year-old Lucas Morgan, are being charged with armed robbery.
