COLUMBIA, SC (WTOC) – A Beaufort man won $40,000 with his Powerball ticket.
Harold Lewis Jr. bought his ticket at the Tiger Express in Beaufort for the Dec. 18 drawing.
When Lewis realized he won $40,000 he called his wife and asked her what to do, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
Lewis matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball drawn. He purchased the PowerPlay for an additional $1, which multiplied his $10,000 winnings by "4" to $40,000.
The father of four said he plans to pay off the car and take a family vacation with the winnings, according to the SCEL.
