2 sought in Beaufort County for pistol whipping

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) – Two males are being sought in connection with an assault at a northern Hilton Head apartment complex.

Just before midnight Jan. 2, sheriff's deputies arrived at the Oaks apartment complex at 400 William Hilton Parkway on a report of an assault and burglary.

A 32-year old man told deputies that he had been pistol whipped by two unknown black male suspects. The victim was standing outside his apartment, talking on the phone when the suspects approached him. Both suspects were armed with handguns, and forced him to take them inside his apartment, according to the sheriff's office. Inside the apartment, the suspects hit him with their handguns.

The victim called 911 and both suspects ran toward US 278.

The victim had no visible injuries and refused medical treatment, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Nothing was stolen during the attack, and the suspects' motive is unclear.

The suspects are described as between 16 to 18 years old. They were both about 6 feet tall and weighed 165 pounds. They were both wearing black clothing that covered their faces.
