Victim found by railroad tracks in North Charleston identified

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating after a body was found near rail road tracks in North Charleston.

Officers were dispatched at 10:08 a.m. to the end of Dutton Street in reference to a body lying on the railroad tracks.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 35-year-old Anthony Heyward of North Charleston. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma caused by an impact from the train.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Charleston Police Department and investigators await the cause of death from the coroner's office.
