Charleston police: Man stole lottery tickets from Piggly Wiggly

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleston police are looking a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary at a Piggly Wiggly grocery store Friday.

Robert Canell King, 43, is wanted on second degree burglary charges by police. Officers responded to the Piggly Wiggly on Skylark Drive Friday after a store employee said that someone broke into the store overnight and stole about $835 in cash and $1,000 in lottery tickets.

Security footage showed a shorter black male subject wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, with a black coat, blue jeans and dark shoes approach the front office, take the above mentioned items, and walk towards the rear of the store.

Charleston police have named King as the suspect. King was staying at Motel 6 on Savannah Hwy up until Jan. 3, according to police. King is known to stay in area hotels and motels.

King is described as a black male with black hair color and brown eyes. Police say he is about 5'8" and weighs about 160 pounds.
