Father tells Charleston police son stole his guns

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are seeking the public's help in finding a man they say stole guns from his father's house.

According to a police report, a suspect broke into a home a Wappoo Road home on Dec. 4 and stole a revolver, a shotgun and a box of shotgun shells.

Police issued an arrest warrant Friday for Joshua Prescott Peterson, 20, of Bayhill Drive. He is charged with first-degree burglary.

Peterson is described as a white male, 5'5", 135 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. According to a police report, he drives a blue 1999 Ford Explorer with a South Carolina S.C. license tag of FQZ-198.

Police say the victim of the burglary is Peterson's father, who is estranged from Peterson's mother.

Anyone with information about Peterson's location is asked to call Charleston Police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
