Forgotten lottery ticket found to be a $100,000 winner

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – After scanning through around 15 lottery tickets Dec. 30, a Myrtle Beach couple has discovered they are $100,000 richer.

The woman, who has chosen not to disclose her name, said she had a habit of buying lottery tickets whenever she had a "good feeling" and usually forgot to check them.

On Dec. 30, she said her husband had had enough and began sorting through the tickets. She said she could hear her husband say "Loser, loser, loser." before finally screaming "Oh my goodness."

"We were both jumping up and down in the kitchen," she said.

The winning ticket, purchased at the Wilco Hess #95 in Myrtle Beach, matched all five numbers drawn in the Dec. 26 Palmetto Cash 5 drawing. The numbers were 16, 18, 24, 29 and 32, with the Power-Up number being three.

The winners said they hadn't had a vacation in 17 years, so that was going to be a purchase they made with their winnings. Other than that, they only planned on taking care of expenses.
